This is a great photo of all the Mums and a few Aunties at Kin Kin Junction State School back in 1929. I had seen this photo in the book “Kin Kin schools past and present / by J. D. Dale” and just found a copy of the original – in much better resolution – in a pile of family history papers.

Its a great photo because it shows Mrs Clara Hapgood (nee Newton, my great grandmother) sitting next to her sister Sarah Payne (nee Newton) who lived next door, plus 4 of her daughters (Iris, Phyllis, Gwen and Ina) and Alice Shepperson (nee Jackson, who was Clara Hapgood’s niece). Iris and Phyllis are holding small children in their arms, just behind Clara and Sarah on the right end of the front row.
